About Your Counsellor
I am fully insured and qualified with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, and a BSc in PsychoSocial Studies from UEA. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and part of the DBS Update Service. I work with individuals and couples.
I work in a person-centred way, which is all about helping you to feel comfortable and safe enough to connect with your inner workings and to share and explore together to make some sense of them. Whether you’re struggling with your mental health, or you’re working on an aspect of personal or professional development, or relational difficulties, whatever it is I’ll be guided by you as I support you through this process; I’m a firm believer that you are the expert on yourself.
For working with couples my approach is also person-centred, facilitating each individual to process their experience and feelings and be heard in the relationship.
Alongside my counselling work, I am a Pastoral Coach at City College Norwich, leading the wellbeing support on a specialist course for Autistic students with a wide range of neurodiversity / neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, PDA). I am also a tutor on the Counselling Skills course at the Norwich Centre.
Your Session, Your Time
Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £50. I have some concessionary appointments at £45, depending on financial need. For couples work, sessions are £75 for one hour.
I will be guided by you, at your pace, as we explore whatever is going on for you.
Appointments are held in person at St George’s Works, 51 Colegate, Norwich. NR3 1DD.
Appointments are on Wednesdays (9am-3.15pm), for anyone aged 18 or over. The number of sessions we have is decided by you.
Feedback from my Clients
“The counselling helped me feel a sense of validation.. talking to you made me realise that my feelings do matter and that I had a right to feel the way I felt.”
“You were able to link feeling and reactions that I was having at the time to things that had happened in the past and you noticed patterns that I hadn’t noticed before. I felt that you understood what I was going through and how I felt about it.”
“I felt understood, I felt heard, I did not feel ‘judged’.. it was always gentle, acknowledging my feelings, but thought provoking in some way.”
“I sometimes think I could not have got through everything that has happened in the last year without your help.. having stopped now I think I can progress on my own.. I do think that you being there has been invaluable to me”
“I was really nervous about coming to counselling, I thought I would just sit in silence the whole time, but I was able to talk through so much with you.. It’s made me realise things that I didn’t think were important”
“I never felt judged or intimidated.. I think the fact that I found it so easy to open up to you shows that there was an instant trust, and the longer time went on I became more and more comfortable.”
“I think I definitely benefitted from the counselling. It helped me understand why I feel the way I feel. It also made me more confident in opening up to other people and not hiding how I feel. A lot of the things we spoke about I had been going over in my own head for years, so it was great to have the chance to get another perspective on events that had stuck with me.”
“In my life I don’t get many chances to talk to someone without being interrupted or talked over or be not listened to, and it felt like you listened to every word I said which felt nice and helped me be more confident in opening up more.”
